Sunday Afternoons fan Jen, has just arrived back from the Isles of Scilly where she participated in the 30th World Pilot Gig Championships. Coming first in her group, ‘mid-ship Millsy’ loved every minute of this exciting, adrenaline filled, weekend, which saw more than 150 gig boats travel to the islands.
Jen took with her the Sunday Afternoons’ Slate Aero visor – which she looks simply fetching in we must say, while her cox, Dave, sported a Black Sun Tripper cap.
Jen said: “In all honesty, I took the hats as a bit of an after-thought, on the assumption that the only weather I would be worried about was the strength of the tides. But by day two, I was thanking the rowing gods I did, as both the visor and the UV Cool gaiter were invaluable, they helped me to keep the beating sun and glare from hindering my performance, while preventing hair and sweat from impeding my vision.”
“Dave and I were so impressed with how comfortable the hats were, the adjustable strap meant they didn’t fly off in very challenging conditions, and provided the perfect amount of sun protection. Both are likely to become an integral part of our kit in coming races.”
So, forget their rowing heroics on the water, and the fact they ‘bossed it’ with their team of amateur rowers. We think the credit really needs to go to Sunday Afternoons, surely? ; D
